About the Institute:

The Institute for Purposeful Entrepreneurship (“IPE”) is dedicated to “helping service businesses increase their income and impact by transforming hourly services into a purposeful, global brand.”

IPE was founded in 2008 by Spiritual Business Strategist Marcia Bench as one way to leverage the intersecting trends of exploding entrepreneurship and emerging global spirituality/quest for meaning and purpose.

Our vision is:

A planet where each person expresses his/her unique gifts in a business or role that blends personal fulfillment, financial rewards, and positive impact on the planet and its inhabitants, delivering his/her services in a way that creates personal freedom and uses both active and passive revenue streams.

Our mission is:

To help more than 1 million people awaken to new or increased freedom of personal expression through purposeful entrepreneurship between 2010 and 2020

To champion the growth of purposeful entrepreneurship as a primary means of both economic development and creative expression, for both new and established entrepreneurs

To research, incubate, and share findings about the “new entrepreneur” movement (the “Entrepreneurial Renaissance”™) including spirituality, marketing, business building, sustainability and more

To train, certify, mentor and otherwise equip purposeful entrepreneurs in virtual business specialties that are easy to start, afford the entrepreneur freedom and flexibility in their business schedule and environment (whether home-based or not), and contribute to the positive growth of individuals on the planet.

To exemplify purposeful entrepreneurship in all that we do, including the use of universal spiritual principles in our daily business practices and offerings, sensitivity to and accommodation of our staff’s and customers’ lifestyle needs with family as a priority, ongoing awareness and following of Spirit’s guidance in our business direction and resolution of business issues, and manifestation of abundant revenues of which we share a portion with charitable and entrepreneurial causes worldwide.

About Our Founder:

Marcia Bench is a Purposeful Business Strategist, Coach, Author and Speaker, with more than 23 years’ experience coaching, training, and speaking to entrepreneurs.  A Master Certified Career Coach,^TM she has been coaching and consulting both individual and corporate clients since 1986.  She is CEO of Purposeful Entrepreneur Enterprises, LLC http://www.purposefulentrepreneur.com, Founder/Director of Career Coach Institute, LLC, as well as other coaching companies.

A former attorney, Marcia has authored 23 books.  Her latest are The Tao of Entrepreneurship: 52 Lessons in Applying Spiritual Principles to Business Ownership, (High Flight Press 2009) and Career Coaching: An Insider’s Guide (High Flight Press 2008)

Marcia has been a featured speaker/trainer at hundreds of local, regional and national conferences, as well as on hundreds of teleclasses and guest appearances on numerous television and radio programs.  Her mission is to help individuals increase their sense of enjoyment and meaning in their work.

Marcia’s coaching experience includes work with managers and executives from Fortune 500 firms in a variety of industries as well as dozens of business owners, professionals, and military officers entering the civilian workforce.

Prior to entering the coach training industry, Marcia was Senior Vice President in a dot-com career management firm for 4 years, and previously spent 10 years as President of New Work Directions, a business and consulting firm she founded.  Ms. Bench developed her expertise in business start-up and management in part through her 4 years as a practicing attorney specializing in business and employment issues.  She is a current member of the International Coach Federation.

Marcia’s education includes a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Oregon University.  In addition, she is a Certified Career Management Practitioner through the International Board of Career Management Certification, a Certified Business Coach, a Certified Teleader and Master Certified Career Coach.
